The Falls
Jackson Baldwin's Falls, A Children's Memorial
When Jackson's Pay It Forward Foundation was established to honor the memory of Jackson, a beloved classmate felt compelled to commemorate him and all children who have prematurely lost their lives. The idea of creating a beautiful memorial for these young people took shape and blossomed with the help of many community donors and volunteers. Located at the 21st Street entrance to Lewiston near the Hells Canyon Grand Hotel, the Falls Memorial commemorates those who have passed before their 19th birthday with individual plaques, free of charge.
The waterfall feature was built by Clearwater Summit Group out of Spokane. Much of the landscaping was done by ML Albright and Sons, and irrigation and plants were provided by Living Waters - all with the help of many volunteers. DeAtley Crushing donated over 800 tons of rock and concrete. The cost of the project, estimated at $320,000 was entirely funded by monetary or in-kind donations. Many of the donor's names are engraved in the rocks at the Falls. The beautiful monument was built by Bentz Boats, where it features plaques for those who have passed, but will forever be in our hearts.
